Why does the filtered water taste different?
The elements present in water give it a distinct taste. Before filtration, along with taste, tap water may also have some odour. During the filtration process elements like Chlorine, Fluoride and heavy metals like Lead, etc., are removed, and hence the distinct taste formed due to these elements is neutralized.
Does Aimex water filter affect the smell and taste of water?
In our water filters, along with filtration, remineralisation also takes place in which essential trace minerals are added back, balancing the pH of the water to slightly alkaline, which is better for the body. This gives filtered water the distinct taste.
What is the pH of the filtered water?
The pH of water filtered using Aimex water filters comes to about 7-8 or even slightly higher, making it slightly alkaline.
Why don't some people prefer the taste of filtered water?
While most people love the way their water tastes on filtration, please note that taste is an individual preference and may vary based on personal choice. We give you the reassurance that water filtered with Aimex water filters is pure and healthy, and the taste is what majority buyers consider as 'tasty'. But please be advised that as filtration is a defined process, there is nothing we can do externally to change the taste if you prefer it otherwise.
It may happen that when you first switch to drinking filtered water, you may feel the difference, and it takes some time to adapt to the new taste. Knowing that it is right for your health makes it tastier.
Can we return the water filter once opened?
We are sorry, but due to hygiene reasons, we do not stock it back and resell and hence cannot accept the return. If you are buying any components, and want to check the compatibility with other brands, please do not hesitate to reach us beforehand.
What if there I feel there is a fault in my water filter?
All our products go through stringent quality checks before being shipped. If you find any fault, please reach us, and we will resolve it for you. All return shipment is paid the customer (in case of a post/courier fault, the seller has to pay for return shipment).
How do I install a new/replacement filter?
For the best experience with Aimex water filters, soak filters and pads in water overnight. Soaking will also remove any air inside. Next day, wash it under warm (not hot) running tap water - this will get rid of the black residue releasing from activated charcoal. Your filter is now ready to be installed.
Do I need to see a doctor if I drink dark coloured water?
The black residue is a natural discharge from activated charcoal, which is an essential component of filtration. If you have correctly followed the pre-installation steps - soaked and washed your water filter - then it should not leak and give only clear water. In case you drink water when it is still dark - there is no cause for concern. Activated charcoal is a natural detoxifier and is being used in many products now.
We emphasize the thorough washing of your filter before installation.
Why is it taking very long for filtration?
In the event of extremely slow filtration, please rinse the water filter with warm water (not hot or boiling). The only reason this may occur is if air molecules are trapped in the ceramic layer as it has very minute, 5-micron pores. Smaller pore size is one of the measures of a high-quality water filter.
Once you wash thoroughly and start using the water filter, the filtration rate will gradually increase.

What to do if my water filter leaks from the side?
In a new filter, the leak may be due to the air stuck between the particles of the water filter. To fix this, you can remove the water filter and wash it under running warm water (not hot or boiling) for 10-15 min. If you can visibly see the air bubbles, slight tapping may also help to remove them. Washing will help in removing any air left within and improves the flow. The flow will also increase gradually with use.
